The sorceress Melissa will stop at nothing to seduce the paladin Amadigi away from his beloved Oriana, who is in turn the object of his companion Dardano s desire. If her threats, cruel tricks and jealous rages fail to win his heart, will her final act of revenge break them apart forever?

Handel s dramatic setting is a spectacle of enchantment, ghostly spirits and hellish demons. He draws on every emotion of the central characters and explores every facet of the experience of love, from jealousy, vindictiveness and infatuation, to passion, optimism and triumph.
